The Club de la Innovación has included in its success stories the Catalan interoperability model, pointing out the AOC Consortium as a key element in managing the complexity of a scenario made up of more than a thousand entities (947 town councils, 41 county councils, the Generalitat de Catalunya, etc.) and in which all of them are, or may be, issuers and requesters of documentation and data.
This website has particularly highlighted the innovative nature of this model which is based on institutional cooperation and collaboration by creating and making available to the public sector of Catalonia common infrastructures and services of electronic administration that guarantee the interoperability of information systems. and facilitating its use by the entities that make up the public sector.
During 2011, the Catalan administrations exchanged a total of 6.783.559 data and electronic documents.
