During the presentation of the Draft Law on the use of electronic media in the public sector of Catalonia on January 28 in Parliament, the Minister for Governance and president of the AOC Consortium, Jordi Ausàs, emphasized that the implementation of this law, drawn up by the Department of Governance and Public Administrations through the Secretariat of Public Service and Modernization of the Administration, will result in the expansion of the role of the Electronic Open Administration Consortium, meeting point for the Administration of the Generalitat and local administrations to advance the development of electronic administration.
Among other things, the future law on electronic media in the public sector provides for:
-
The approval of the Interoperability Framework of the public sector of Catalonia, as an instrument to guarantee the necessary levels of interaction between the different entities.
-
La creation of the Catalog of interoperable data and documents in Catalonia, as an instrument to give effect to the right of citizens not to provide data and documents that are in the possession of public administrations.
-
La creation and maintenance of a network of electronic communications of the Catalan public administrations to guarantee communication between all the entities and bodies that are part of it.
-
The adoption of electronic mechanisms and the necessary applications to allow inter-administrative transactions and guarantee its safety.
The law is the result of the deployment of new statutory powers and supposes the definition and regulation of the Catalan model of electronic administration.
