With the approval of this Law, the Catalan e-government model is consolidated and deployed.
At its meeting on 29 July, the Parliament of Catalonia approved the Law on the use of electronic media in the public sector in Catalonia. The law has been approved by a large majority and has not been voted against (117 votes in favor and 16 abstentions).
This regulation must make it possible to intensify progress in the process of transforming Catalan public administrations, regulating the role of electronic media in consolidating its own model of electronic administration. In this sense, assign to AOC Consortium, among others, the development of “electronic applications, tools and services” and the promotion of their use in the Catalan administrations and “the elaboration of criteria and recommendations to guarantee the interoperability of the derived information” of the action of the Catalan public sector. The role of the Catalan Certification Agency - CATCert as a provider of electronic signature services for Catalan public administrations.
