Last Tuesday, February 28, Barcelona City Council and the Consortium of Open Administration of Catalonia electronically signed a collaboration agreement through which citizens who change their residence will have the opportunity to communicate their new address to the administrations via the Internet and the public administrations that require the accreditation of a domicile of residence will be able to make the consultation of leaflets of the municipal register of inhabitants by electronic means.
They signed the agreement, the Hon. Sr. Joan Clos i Matheu, Mayor President of Barcelona City Council, assisted by Mr. Jordi Cases i Pallarès, General Secretary of the corporation, and the Hon. Sr. Joan Carretero i Grau, President of the AOC Consortium. The event was also attended by Im. Sr. José Cuervo Agudín, Fourth Deputy Mayor, Mr. Joan A. Olivares i Obis, Managing Director of the AOC Consortium, Mr. Jordi Masias i Muntada, managing director of CATCert and Mr. José Ramón Rodríguez Bermúdez, Deputy Manager of Organization and Information Systems.
The ultimate goal of this project is to prevent the citizen from having to present certificates or flyers of the municipal register of inhabitants on paper in any public body. And, in order to achieve this, it is proposed to offer an inter-administrative collaboration service that facilitates the exchange of information on the citizens of their domicile necessary for carrying out various procedures and procedures, thus contributing to gaining internal efficiency. to the administrations and to save time and formalities to the citizens.
This project is aimed at all the town councils and supramunicipal administrations of Catalonia that manage, directly or by delegation, databases of the municipal register of inhabitants.
It is guaranteed that the exchange of data between the different entities will always be carried out in compliance with the Law on the protection of personal data and with all the guarantees of security of telematic transactions.
