The implementation of the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Local Administration begins

Catalan local bodies can join the IDEC Local project either through membership or integration into the local IDEC network.

The adhesion of the local entity to the IDEC.Local project involves the incorporation into the web page of the local entity of a map viewer, personalized, presenting in its corresponding territorial scope several layers of basic and thematic cartography of the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia and other institutions, points of interest and other information that can be provided through IDEC, with the option of integrating the entity's own map server and incorporation into the website of the local entity of a visualizer of the street map of the corresponding municipality, with options of search by postal address, geographic search, zoom, inclusion of points of interest, equipment and public services, etc. Currently, there are already three councils' La Roca del Vallès, Rialp and Tossa de Mar- that have joined this modality.

The integration of the local body in the IDEC Local network (which is subsidized in the call for grants for new technologies for local bodies of the CAOC) allows the generation of metadata related to geoinformation available in the local body and publication in the IDEC.Local catalog and the activation or installation of the OGC (Open GIS Consortium) connectors of the map servers available in the local entity. The first municipalities integrated in the IDEC Local network are those of Girona, El Prat, Tossa de Mar, Blanes and Montcada i Reixac.
