The IDEC Local initiative to create the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Catalan Local Administrations has been well received both through the accession of local bodies to the project and the integration into the IDEC Local network through applications to the recent Call for grants to local bodies of the AOC Consortium.
The aim of this project is to promote and channel the participation of local bodies in the development of a Spatial Data Infrastructure of the local administrations of Catalonia, autonomous and at the same time integrated within the Catalan FDI (IDEC). This infrastructure involves, on the one hand, making the available geoinformation available and describing it using metadata in a catalog accessible on the Internet, and on the other hand, publishing this geoinformation on map servers, in order to make it available. accessible, under the conditions determined by each of us, to other administrations and users in general, creating a network of local servers that allow access to their geoinformation, combine it with each other and with data from other administrations and, in longer term, raise new applications and projects.
The people in charge of the IDEC Support Center will be in charge of contacting the local bodies that have joined in order to define the methodology for joining and / or integrating the local body in question into the IDEC Local project.
