More than 150 councils publish information on economic activities in an open and reusable format

In the demarcation of Barcelona there are more than 200 entities that are users of the Activity Information Manager (GIA), a computer application with web technology designed and created by the Diputación de Barcelona to facilitate councils the management of the activities and establishments of their municipalities.
The data from the GIA activity censuses include activities from various economic sectors: industrial, commercial, services, recreational, etc. as well as cultural, sports, educational, socio-sanitary and religious facilities. The data is owned by the user councils, which manage and maintain it.
Currently, more than 75% of the user bodies of the GIA application have already authorized the Diputació de Barcelona to publish their data in open format, so that, in addition to appearing in the Barcelona Provincial Council's open data portal, are also automatically published on the open data portal of each entity and is provided by the AOC.
There are currently 153 entities that have the active data set, published in CSV format with the name “Census of municipal activities with establishment (GIA-DIBA)”, making it very easy to consult the census both in table format (list), as by means of a map in the open data portal of each entity.
Clicking on any of the activities shown gives you all the details of the information available at the GIA.
The data is updated daily from the information published on the open data portal of the Diputació de Barcelona which, through an API, allows you to access the content and in time publish it on each of the municipal portals automatically, encouraging principles of information reuse and transparency.
The data set “Census of municipal activities with establishment (GIA-DIBA)” is shared daily with the open data portal of Catalonia thus encouraging a syndication of content based on the principle of "once only" - "once and for all".
